Since 1993, the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation has continuously supported young talented musicians by providing them with free air travel, instrument loans and scholarships for those who wish to continue their studies internationally. In 2003, the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation launched the new group called, "Kumho Asiana Soloists" displaying youth and passion of chamber music to the world. Kumho Asiana Soloists are different from any other ensembles in the nation due to the fact that it is compromised of young prodigies all under the age of 30, whom continuously receive support from the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation since their young age. Besides from studying and performing nationally and abroad, the members of the Kumho Asiana Soloists have shined the stage at Kumho Art Hall through Kumho Prodigy Series, Kumho Young Artist Series, and Kumho Rising Star Series. With the help from Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation, these young musicians are taking steps closer to world of stardom, broadening their world and knowledge of classical music. Kumho Asiana Soloists works closely with up and rising new composers of our nation, supporting their music and performing them in the series. Through a nationwide search, Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation chooses one composer to be the composer in residence, promoting and presenting the potential of the new composer and its music. Composer Myung-Whun Choi was the first composer in residence and the Kumho Asiana Soloists performed his "Nostalgia Arirang" in May, 2008. Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation and Kumho Asiana Soloists look forward to discover and support many more new composers in the future. A great ensemble project, Kumho Asiana Soloists is comprised of young talented artists of classical music, performing around the world. Including their performance at the Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, they have also been invited to perform in Pusan, Pohang, Ulsan, Gwangju and Seoul International Music Festival, Tong Yong International Music Festival. Proudly representing Korea and its culture, the Kumho Asiana Soloists have also performed on stages in Bonn, Rome, Paris, Milano, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Toronto, Ottawa, Tel Aviv, and at the UN headquarters in New York, United States..
